This site is a tribute to David Shoesmith, who passed away aged 82 on March 28th.  Dad was a mathematician who worked for most of his career at Cambridge University, before moving to Cheltenham for the last 10 years of his career.  He lived there very happily for the rest of his life, enjoying some of the closest friendships he ever had.  Whilst there he became a devout member of Cambray Baptist Church, fell in love with the Everyman Theatre, and received regular visits from his growing number of grandchildren. 

So many people will miss him.  From the cards and messages we've received, he had even more friends than we knew.  We would be so touched if those people would add to this collection to Sue Ryder to support a cause that became very dear to him during those last few months.
